Pizza Time!
Home made pizza is absolutely better than a shop bought pizza and can give some take away pizza a run for their money.
My Pizza game improved when I found Pizza da Piero which you can get in Dunnes, Super Valu and pretty much most places these days including smaller gourmet food stores. The pizza bases come in at least 2 sizes.
Our pizza game is still a work in progress but I find using grated cheese easier to deal with as a novice. You can get grated mozzerella in the supermarket easily and if its mixed with cheddar ... no bother.
Also the chilli game matters - I have no real love of chilli oil on pizza except in desperation for heat. On the other hand - both jalapeños and fresh green chilli are a must and they bring such different flavours and heat factors to the party. And then a really nice pepperoni is a crowd pleaser but I tend to need my own pizza because I am one of those people who needs the pineapple!
Jalapeños can be got by the jar and are easy to use on pizza and over nachos - oh god I'm making myself hungry now!
As for the chilli - for pizza there is a format I can't deviate from - so every time I go to the Asian market I buy fresh green chillis. These seem to be gone from almost every supermarket in place of little bags of mixed chillis of mediocre variety. I slice the chillis and freeze them. So worth it and it keeps your chilli game consistent!
If you have any opinion of pizza sauce especially a recommendation - I’d love to hear it
